Share through a Client Portal
Section titled “Share through a Client Portal”- Attach the project
- Show the right stages
- Set link permissions
- Check the client view
Open the portal’s Projects tab, attach the project, and check its visibility. In the stage settings, choose whether the client sees the upload stage, the review stage, or both. A visible project with a hidden review won’t show that review.
Open Links → Mint link, name the link, and choose the intended actions. View, Comment, Approve, Upload, and Download are separate permissions. Approve also governs supported revision decisions. Set an expiry when needed and save the link.
Password and branding
Section titled “Password and branding”Passwords on portal links require an eligible plan. Portal branding and a custom domain have separate plan gates; see Client Portals. An email gate identifies or restricts entry according to the options shown; it isn’t an invitation to the internal team.
Check and revoke access
Section titled “Check and revoke access”Open the link in a private window or separate browser profile before sending it. Verify the actual visible project, selected draft, and available actions. Your owner session may show more than the client sees.
Edit permissions, expiry, or password in the link settings. Revoke or delete a link when it should stop granting future access. A recipient can retain a file they already downloaded; changing a link doesn’t erase their local copy.
Existing one-off share links
Section titled “Existing one-off share links”Some workspaces also expose project or stage Share Links. These are separate from a portal and have their own settings, such as comments, download, version visibility, descriptions, passphrase, expiry, and preview watermark.
Use the controls on that specific link; portal quotas and portal-password labels don’t describe every legacy share-link option. A visual preview watermark doesn’t mean the downloaded original has been watermarked.
For ongoing client work, a portal keeps the client’s projects in one place. For a missing control, check permissions before creating a second link.
