Choose Document → Upload & View for a file prepared outside Stago. Choose Collaborative Editor when you want to write and edit inside Stago.
Upload a document
Section titled “Upload a document”- Create a Document stage with Upload & View.
- Select a PDF, DOC, or DOCX file. The document picker accepts these formats; it isn’t a general office-file importer.
- Wait for the upload to finish, then open its review stage.
- Check the filename and selected version before collecting feedback.
The uploaded-document path has its own size limit as well as workspace limits; see file formats.
PDF preview
Section titled “PDF preview”Stago displays PDF through the browser’s PDF viewer. Page navigation, zoom, and printing controls depend on the browser. Use Open in new tab when the embedded viewer is inconvenient, or download the file if allowed.
If the preview remains blank, try opening the document in a new tab and check whether that browser can display the original PDF. A protected or damaged PDF may need to be exported again.
Word files
Section titled “Word files”DOC and DOCX files need to be downloaded and opened in a document application. Stago doesn’t turn them into live editable documents or promise an inline Word preview. Edit the source in your document application, then upload the revised file through the upload stage.
For an inline reading experience, export a PDF from the Word document before uploading. Keep the editable source separately when the client needs it as part of the handoff.
Comments and revisions
Section titled “Comments and revisions”Use the review’s Comments panel to discuss the selected document. Include a page number, heading, or quoted phrase so the author can find the requested change. Don’t assume a general comment is anchored to a Word paragraph.
An authorized reviewer can Approve or Request Changes. Check the new draft after a revision upload; earlier comments stay with their original context. Uploaded files don’t use the collaborative editor’s text history or autosave.
Client download remains a separate permission from viewing and approval. If the client must read a DOCX, make sure their link permits download or provide a PDF they can preview.
