DaVinci Resolve plugin

Available onBaseProBusiness

The plugin brings Stago review feedback into DaVinci Resolve Studio. Open Settings → Plugins → DaVinci Resolve for the download and current installation instructions.

The Stago plugin supports macOS and Windows, with Resolve Studio 17 or newer. The free edition of Resolve and Linux aren’t supported by this plugin.

  1. Download and unzip the plugin archive; keep the com.stago.extension folder intact.
  2. Move it into the Workflow Integration Plugins directory shown in Stago’s installation instructions. The system may ask for administrator permission.
  3. Fully quit and reopen Resolve.
  4. Open Workspace → Workflow Integrations → Stago.

The usual installation directories are:

  • macOS: /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Workflow Integration Plugins/
  • Windows: %PROGRAMDATA%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Workflow Integration Plugins\

In Resolve, the documented local scripting setting is Preferences → System → General → External scripting using → Local. Follow the app’s current instructions for your installed version.

Generate a token in Settings → Integrations, in the DaVinci section. Copy it when shown and enter it in the plugin with your Stago server URL, then choose Connect. The normal hosted URL is https://app.stago.io.

Keep the token private. Revoke an unused or exposed token in Stago; create a replacement rather than sharing another person’s token.

Choose the correct project, review, and draft version. Open the intended Resolve timeline and check its frame rate and start timecode before using comment navigation or marker synchronization.

Use the available sync/marker controls to add or replace Stago markers. Check a known comment near the beginning and another later in the timeline. Media time and timeline time can differ if the edit, offset, or frame rate doesn’t match.

Mark a comment complete or reopen it through the provided controls, wait for confirmation, and check the result in Stago when needed. Don’t assume a button press succeeded before the server result arrives.

If the plugin can’t connect, check the server URL, token, network, plan eligibility, and Resolve Studio installation. If positions look wrong, verify the timeline/version and frame-rate settings before replacing markers.
